It’s tempting to think that way yeah. God however, is anything but a control-freak and out of love and respect for humanity he is not here to act as our harsh little nanny, holding our hands at every step of the way and immediately spank us if we deviate from a narrowly defined spectrum of allowed actions and acceptable behavior.
God wants us to live and learn freely, i.e. that we do not have the feeling that some overly paternal being constantly breathes down our necks. The fact that he is omnipotent does not make him want to neurotically meddle into our affairs. He only intervenes if we explicitly request his assistance through intercessory prayer and then only if it fits God’s intention. God should not be mistaken to be some sort of ueber-Santa Claus.
If God were a control freak then he would ultimately be fueled by fear and insecurity, which is impossible since God has nothing to fear from anything or anyone.
It is a typical human fallacy to blame God for the things that go wrong in the world, this is for instance the deplorable incentive to curse and swear.
The world is ruined by the human ego. God is not to blame for the actions we decide on doing based on our “free” will. Rather it is the widely prevalent fear-driven incompetence and irresponsibility of people that is the causal factor of the misery and suffering in the world.

1. What is the point of being Omnipresent and not Omni in control and Omni interested in all the details?. No point and no need!
If God didnt care about the details, he wouldnt tell us that he knows the exact number of hairs on our head and our every thought and action before we have even done it. We will be held to account for every word that has come out of our mouths. All our days are appointed to us by God. It is the Human being that wants nothing to do with God.
After all we are told that He guided Israel by a fire at night and a cloud by day. They begged him to leave them alone and allow them to have a human king rule over them. He granted them their wish.
It is a satanically motivated plan to rid man of his ego. The ego is an essetntial valid part of our make-up other wise God wouldnt have given it to us.
With out the ego the 10 commandments would have no power to convert our soul, because it is the 10 commandments that show us that we are condemmened and rightfully so. Everyone of us a murderer, adulterer, fornicator, blasphemer theif and liar. This knowldege leads men to true repentance and true salvation through faith in the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
I’m sorry Philip but I’m not following there, are you saying that God has told you those details?
I do not agree with your statement that God has appointed all of our days. It flies in the face of free will and indeed confirms that God is a control-freak, something which I do not buy as God is god of love, grace and mercy, as opposed to a god of coercion and control. I think we determine through our own decisions, how old we get. People who choose to live as slobs and junks will on average die an early age and they do so out of their own volition. Nonetheless, I also believe that God already knows how old we will become but that he chooses not to intervene unless we explicitly ask him to, through e.g. intercessory prayer.
What makes you say that it is a satanic plot to rid humanity of their egos? Also I draw into question the idea that God made the ego. Nonetheless, the ego does seem to serve its purpose as it shows a human being how to not do things and as such gives us an opportunity to learn through acknowledgment of error. Indeed, it may be the ego is indispensable for our heavenly ascension in that its dismantlement, through scrutiny and correction of due flaws, is necessary to see the transmutation of our animalistic nature (base metal) to a golden enlightened state (gold). Jesus, as the supreme alchemist, provided us with a formula to become as God ourselves.
We are all sinners in the eyes of God. Belief in Christ as redeemer and savior of humanity is a necessary and sufficient condition for anyone to be saved though. This is the power of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and is his gift to humanity.

The thought of human beings having freewill stems from, among other places, the first commandment in the satanic bible – “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law”
Consider the salesman who has forgotten he has a sales manager he must report to at the end of each month. Yes of course he is “free” to lie in bed all day and do no work, but he is not free to escape the consequences of his lazy-ness and in-action.
It can be argued then that Freewill is a subjective concept with the potential to be misunderstood and greatly misquoted out of context.
I believe that “Freedom” without consequences for ones actions is freedom indeed. However, as that is not the case for mankind, then I am sure you can see my point regarding the free-will concept.
For example the man who gives himself completely over to the pleasures of the flesh (which he is “free” to do providing his finances allow) and becomes entangled and bound to this behaviour and can not get out of it…what “freedom” is there in that? None, only misery. And the man who is “free” to give himself over to anger and commits murder and is left to think about his crimes in prison for life, what “freedom” is there in that? None only misery. I am not talking about the Psychopath who, for whatever reason, is incapable of experiencing remorse.
Can I ask you, did you ask to be born?
Will you ask to Die?
And yet one of these things has happened and one will happen to us. I ask you what then is free about our existence on this earth?
There is a time of great tribulation coming upon all men who have rejected the gospel, they will suffer so much pain that they will actually want to die, they will beg for death, but they will not be allowed to die. Attempts to kill themselves will even fail.
Rev 9:6 and in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
God is also Sovereign, a God of Justice, a God or righteous anger and hatred for sin. This is also Love; to execute justice is what a loving fair and righteous judge does. The wrath of God rests on all human beings who have not repented and believed on Jesus Christ as saviour. This is also love. The bible says anyone who rejects this truth, let them be anathema meaning; damned – Why yes, then I concur, one is “free” to be damned, but what “freedom” is there in eternal damnation?
Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
The only necessary condition for men to be saved is a repentant, guilt confessing, sorrow filled heart. One can not receive the free gift of salvation without it.
His wrath towards all law breakers of the 10 commandants (i.e. every human being) is what converts a man’s soul. It shows us our need for salvation. People can not and will not believe in Christ until they know they are doomed with out him. We do people a disservice in telling them God is a God of love until they have seen that their sins have separated them from the Love of God.
We will never become god. This is also an old, old satanic lie from the old serpent –

Satan’s problem was he wanted to be God and he exalted himself above God. The second that happened it was game over for him and all creation.

The Cross of Christ has no power or use without the condemning power of the Law. It is the Law that converts sinners, not the cross. The law leads to repentance, and to faith in the cross/Christ. The gospel preached by Christ and all the apostles is “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”. Meaning the Judgment and punishment you deserve is coming.
CSI have gathered the evidence on your case and can prove that you are guilty. The police are on ther way to take you in and you know you are guilty. Are you ready for the good news now? Am I telling the truth?
The blood of Christ was for God first, it was an acceptable sacrifice to God and satisfied and appeased his wrath, in other words it satisfied His standard for Justice being met. To be saved, we must be IN Christ through faith and grace. And this comes through hearing the foolishness of preaching.
Psa 19:7 the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
There are many millions of people in this world who believe in the cross, but it has no saving power over them because they have only been taught about Gods love whilst the penalty for sin and the consequences of sin has been completely ignored. Why is that? Because people don’t want to hear it, they do not want to bend their knee and humble themselves and admit their guilt compared to a holy righteous God. Who wants to admit they deserve punishment? Only those who know they are guilty.
I’m a big fan of the TV program CSI, one common thread in all of the cases is that the suspect never ever admits quilt until he can see that the evidence has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is guilty. It’s the same with God’s Law; a man will never ever receive Christ as saviour until he can see he is guilty.
A good preacher will spend 90 percent on the law and 10 percent on Grace, after that the soul and conscience has been prepared for salvation.
Why? This is why….it’s because
Cr 2:14 …the natural man received not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Shining the light of Christ straight into someone’s eyes will blind them, they will turn away because they are used to darkness, and they are that natural man. But prepare a man’s heart by showing him his true condition before God by revealing that the evidence that he has broken God’s perfect law (a natural man can grasp this) and then shine the light of Christ, then he will be prepared to receive the spiritual.
90 percent of professing Christians backslide and fall away from the faith for this very reason. They have tried to receive the spiritual without grasping the natural. This is impossible. They then expect to be wonderfully blessed and feel wonderful and have a great problem free life on earth. When this doesn’t happen, they go looking else where again. But a person who knows they are in danger of hell fire for eternity and realises that’s what they deserve, will received the good news with overflowing joy and gladness and anything this life throws at them will be kept in right perspective. Eternity in heaven with God compared to 70 or so years in this dustbin of a fallen evil system is the perspective I am referring to.
In conclusion, your use of the word “Control Freak”, regarding Gods care and concern over the minutiae of everyman’s deeds and actions is not a term I would use for his overwhelming concern for the affairs actions and thoughts of every human being on this earth.

I never advocated absolute free will. Free will without the responsibility to answer for decided courses of actions is too radical to even entertain as viable.

I disagree. God does not hate, period. God is love (1 John 4:8). God has a perfect understanding of everything and so he knows all about the motives of sinners (even better than they do themselves), this perfect and complete awareness prevents him from having to become angry. Ultimately, God’s love will wash away all fear and hate.
Indeed, there lies no freedom in eternal damnation, but still one is granted to freedom to choose it nonetheless.
I’m inclined to disagree since our egos may delude us from seeing all our transgressions. We were all born in sin, and so sin is so commonplace with us that we may fail to see (all) the trees through the wood. Belief in Christ is a sufficient condition to be saved however:
“By GRACE you have been saved though faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any one should boast”. Eph 2:8-10

I believe that God, through his omniscience, knows everything we do, have done and will do. But I do not believe that he uses this knowledge to coerce into doing certain things which he knows would be the best way to go about. Unless we explicitly seek his guidance (through prayer), God chooses not intervene even though his is always perfectly aware.
I disagree but I can see where you are coming from. Pursuing the way of the dragon (ego) is not the way to godhood I agree. However the right way is provided by exaltation of the spirit rather than the ego. With this I mean, by loving and expressing that love for one’s fellow man we will draw closer to God because this is God’s real nature (Love), as God loves us all and equally (God is no respecter of persons). By hating and fearing one’s fellow man (the way of the isolationist ego), we will draw closer to Satan.

But with all due respect Phil, I think the attribute “word of God” is a bit pretentious. The Bible has been written and rewritten quite a few times by many people. I have no way of knowing that all these men did not have shady ulterior motives. I have no way of knowing how many times the True Word of God has been twisted, distorted or even plainly omitted. Also people make mistakes in translation, true meanings may be lost in translations etc.
This does not mean of course that I think the Bible is a complete fabricated fairy tale. Quite the contrary, I think the Bible contains great truths that really speak to the heart, especially the books from the NT. But there are nonetheless contradictions in the Bible and when I stumble upon I choose the alternative that corresponds most closely to the notion that God is a god of love, grace and mercy. But that’s my personal preference.

Well thats fine your entitled to hold that opinon, many do it’s not a new thought.
Aesops fables contains great truths which speak to the heart as do many other books of course.
It’s a very convenient stance for accepting or rejecting any portion of scripture you see fit but it is not condusive to any meaningful discussion regarding said bible “truths” I’m sure wil agree.
However in order for there to be any truth in your “opinion” which is only a conclusion you can come to based on the opinions of others, one would need to spend the rest of their life explaining in documented form which scriptures one deems to be fabrications by wicked men, and which parts one deems to be “great truths which speak to the human heart”. Failing that, we would probably get more out of discussing the cricket scores between Australia and New Zealand in the recent one day clash.

And how where you convinced of this??? And who and or what is your god, your concept of god, and how did you formulate your beliefs? I know now it can not have been the bible.
I am not the only man on this earth now and throughout history who is convinced based on overwhelming factual evidence that the bible is the actual word of God. (but I dont really want to deabte that) Let’s just conclude that we are all pretentious and leave it at that.

The lie of the serpent/satan in Gen 3 is that you will not die. That is stated along with the truth that you will be like god, knowing good and evil. Those statements taken together are deception. Truth mixed with error/falsehood makes deception effective. Finish the rest of Gen 3
